The Bowie Tenants Union (BTU) was founded by residents fed up with ongoing water and utility shutoffs, mismanaged repairs, and a lack of accountability from ownership and property management.

Despite paying luxury-level rents, tenants have ensured months of service interruptions, unsafe conditions, and poor communication. Many of these disruptions violate our rights under Texas law and the terms of our lease.

BTU exists to inform tenants, coordinate action, and pressure ownership to meet its obligations. We are independent, tenant-led, and focused on systemic change — not temporary fixes.
